Truck wash to reopen in Saudi Arabia after three days of lockdown

Saudi Arabia has lifted a lockdown on all public transport after a truck washed up on the border with Egypt.

The truck washed ashore on Saturday night on the Saudi-Egyptian border near the city of Qatif.

The country’s Interior Ministry said the vehicle, which belongs to the Saudi government, was transporting workers and supplies.

The Saudi interior ministry said the government was working with Egypt on the case.

The incident has raised fears that the country’s security situation will deteriorate further as it has faced a spate of suicide bombings and other attacks in recent months.

On Tuesday, an attacker detonated an explosives-laden vest in a busy shopping mall in the city, killing at least 17 people and wounding hundreds more.
